March 1, 2009
"There never is a cold call in CREW", as stated by CREW Network's President, Jane Snoddy Smith. More than ever, we need to support each other as the market continues to challenge us. That is why this is the year of the Member in CREW Chicago. We are dedicated to serving our members while furthering our mission to provide a supportive and professional multidisciplinary environment for women in the commercial real estate industry. We are planning different programs and opportunities for all of us to assist each other. Whether you are in transition or wondering about the security of your position, we are here for you. Be on the lookout for a very brief survey to understand how to best meet your needs in 2009. Some areas in the planning stages include focused roundtables, basic skills workshops, transition mentors and survival guides to name a few. For those of us still employed, please reach out to members who you know are in transition. CREW Chicago is planning some great events to facilitate networking and education. April 25th is our CREW Careers™ day. CREW Careers™ is a hands-on classroom designed to open the eyes of teenage girls to the many career opportunities available in the commercial real estate industry. To illustrate the many job types, we make use of local real estate projects. We are once again delivering this program in cooperation with the Girl Scouts and this year, the girls will be able to earn a CREW Careers™ patch for their participation. We know this is going to be a tough year but together, we can survive and in fact, thrive.Thank you, Cindy Wozny-Carl |
