As announced at the January 27 Luncheon Program, CREW Chicago is a sponsor for the Career Transitions Center of Chicago. Through this affiliation, the following free lunchtime workshop is being offered to all CREW Chicago Members. (See below for a description of this partnership.)

Laura Sterkel, CTC Program and Coaching Director
Laura Sterkel is a trained career and life coach, program organizer. She is an eight-year veteran mentor for Menttium Corporation and is also executive coach, providing career management coaching to senior professionals navigating change and distinguishing themselves through leadership. She has twenty years of experience in financial services marketing communications, sales and strategic planning functions in leading financial services firms. She received a B.A. from Smith College and attended the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Program Description:
Have you ever used a coach? This 90 minute program will discuss the role of a coach and the elements of the coaching progress. This is an opportunity to learn about how coaching can help with planning and strategy; brainstorming and ideation; accountability and progress; and long-term career management. She will also discuss how CTC uses coaching, including individual sessions, coaching circles and in peer groups. This will be a chance to learn and experience the power of coaching first-hand. CTC coaches will facilitate "live" coaching samples.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 - Program begins at 12:00 noon, concludes at 1:30 pm.

CREW Chicago Partners with Career Transitions Center
CREW Chicago’s initiatives for 2009 included assisting members in transition. The Member Services Committee was established and scheduled several programs in this area.
It was quickly determined that there are activities that we, as specialists in some aspect of real estate and as volunteers for CREW, are not equipped to provide on our own.
At the January 27 program, Anita Jenke, Executive Director at the Career Transitions Center, described CTC an organization that, in essence, provides outplacement services for those who do not receive them in today’s turbulent economy. Some CREW members have previously used CTC’s services and were thrilled to have CTC as a resource.
CTC is not an executive recruiting firm, nor a job bank. Rather, it helps individuals with developing and enhancing job search skills so that the job search is focused, efficient and productive.
CREW Chicago’s sponsorship provides members with participation in CTC’s services, programs and activities at a $50 discount for the first quarter of membership. Rather than CTC’s standard rate of $150, CREW Chicago members will pay $100. Subsequently, members can continue with CTC at the rate of $100 per quarter.
CTC will also work with CREW Chicago to provide subsequent programs for CREW Chicago members. Information about CTC’s programs and services is at www.ctcchicago.org
