Shlaes, Ph.D. In today’s global workplace, only change is constant. As such, women leaders must learn to empower themselves by acquiring leadership skills which can influence and transform people’s thinking in the workplace so that they make best business judgments in the dynamic economic environment. Participants in this interactive workshop will learn skills which will allow one to transform herself as a leader in both the professional and personal journey that comprises a career, and to grow from an individual contributor to a Senior Transformational Leader in their organizations. About Dr. Shales: Dr. Janet Shlaes has over 20 years of results in various aspects of the non-profit, finance, consulting, training, education and counseling fields. Her professional accomplishments include: creating a global recruiting and training program for a futures trading firm; creating and managing a micro-enterprise center; structuring and staffing a fundraising department; writing an Internet career column; futures trading; public relations for touring authors; researching and editing career strategy books; co-authoring Are You Making the Right Decisions About Your Money?; designing and teaching graduate career development courses at Northwestern University and professional psychology schools; training career and personal development counselors; and designing and prototyping a required career and leadership development program for MBA students. Janet has extensive expertise in the organizational, leadership and personal development realms and has created and facilitated a variety of programs, trainings, seminars and retreats focusing on organizational, change management, leadership, career, life-stage, and life-balance concerns in corporate, non-profit, and national conference settings. Janet works with individuals and organizations to facilitate personal, career, leadership and organizational transformation. Her credentials include an MA and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University and an MBA in Finance from Loyola University of Chicago. Janet is a Licensed Psychologist and Certified Structural Consultant. She is currently collaborating on an integrative leadership model that includes: emotional intelligence, change management, cross functional collaboration and communication, interactive technology and empowerment at all organizational levels.
