Transformational Leadership, Ways Women Lead - Part II

Who: CREW Chicago and WREN Members Only

When: Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.

Where: Offices of Holland & Knight LLP, 131 South Dearborn, Suite 3000

Moderator: Neena Konon, Nicholai Studio, Workshop Leader: Janet M. Shlaes, Ph.D.

In today’s global workplace, only change is constant. As such, women leaders must learn to empower themselves by acquiring leadership skills which can influence and transform people’s thinking in the workplace so that they make best business judgments in the dynamic economic environment. Participants in this interactive workshop will learn skills which will allow one to transform herself as a leader in both the professional and personal journey that comprises a career, and to grow from an individual contributor to a Senior Transformational Leader in their organizations.

Specifically the workshop will train our members how to distinguish between Emotional Intelligence and emotionality in making business decisions. In this hands-on workshop, each member will learn the qualities and skills which define the four elements of Emotional Intelligence:  awareness, intention, commitment and courage.

Finally, the workshop will train each member about two contemporary leadership models, identify their relevance for women who want to lead differently than the men, and add premium value to their  company’s quest for success and profitability. At the end of the evening, each member who attends will have learned the powerful distinctions between the leadership styles and how to employ her newly acquired transformational leadership skills in a renewed journey to  outstanding  personal and professional success.
